Canon Japan Tour (Day 2) Tokyo

Hello, travelers. This is Kumi. I guided a Canon Australia's Japan tour for two weeks. Let me show you how we enjoyed the tour. This is about Day 2 in Tokyo.

They had a morning activity by themselves and I joined them for lunch in Asakusa. Then we started exploring Sensoji Temple.

Sensoji Temple and Nakamise Shopping Street are very popular sightseeing sites and they are always packed with visitors.

You can really enjoy the traditional atmosphere here.

To add a traditional atmosphere, I rented a kimono. One of the members took this super happy photo of me.

Then we walked to the Sumida River.

You can take sightseeing boats from here to Odaiba, Hamarikyu, etc.

BTW, people always ask me this question. "What's that strange yellow stuff on top of the building?" To answer this question, I need to start with the other golden building next to it.

Q. What do you think the shape and the color of this building represent?

A. It's a glass of beer.

It's Asahi Beer's headquarters. The shiny white stuff of top is foam. Ha!

The one on the right is a torch. It represents the burning spirits of Asahi Beer's employees. I heard they wanted to make it stand, but as they couldn't get the permission because it could be dangerous for typhoon etc., so they decided to place it like that. Doesn't it look windy? LOL

The tour members rushed to the building and enjoyed taking the photos from below. They are all very creative!

Our next stop was Tokyo Skytree.

This is on a bridge near Solamachi Square.

They started setting the cameras.

Looking up.

Looking up.

Up...

Haha. Photographers don't really mind lying on the ground. LOL

@Jason Ahyong
This is my favorite photo! Of course, I lied down for this. :)

After some shootings, some of the members went up to the observatory and some went up to the 31st floor of Solamachi. This is the view from the 31st floor. If you don't have time to go up to the observation decks, you could come up here and enjoy the view of the north and the east.

Then we walked to Jikkenbashi (bridge).

If you want to capture the whole thing, you need a wide angle lens or a fisheye.

Not only at popular photo spots, anything at anywhere could be our subjects.

We are always thinking about lights, colors, angles, etc.

Now, it's time to enjoy...

Karaoke!

Japanese people don't really sing together unless the song is for duet etc, but they sing all the songs together and it's a lot of fun!!

BTW, let me post some photos from this area because I took some nice ones on some other days.

This is from the north side of Azuma-bashi (bridge).

This one is from the south side of Kototoi-bashi (bridge) on New Year's Day.

Sensoji Temple by night.
