Seishun 18 Day 2

Hello, travelers. This is Kumi. Picturesque Japan Blog introduces you to an inexpensive train journey around Japan. This is Day 2.

I decided to leave early to see Lake Biwa. It was before 6am.

06:14 Maibara - 06:23 Nagahama

Got off the train at Nagahama station where trains are very few...

I chose this station because the distance from the station to the lake is kind of short.

This is Nagahama Castle.

Lake Biwa.

Okay, let me head for Tsuruga.

07:00 Nagahama - 07:36 Tsuruga

This is a train but has the ticket machine.

At Tsuruga station.

Going to the platform of Obama Line.

Mikata Goko (Five Lakes).

09:46 Higashi-maizuru -10:29 Fukuchiyama

Arrived at Fukuchiyama station.

Had a quick breakfast.

11:12 Fukuchiyama - 12:32 Toyooka

As I had 30 minutes till the next train, I decided to explore a bit around Toyooka station.

Okay. Back to the station.

Wow! Trains here have this gap.

13:02 Toyooka - 13:16 Kinosaki-onsen

Arrived at Kinosaki-onsen station.

Time to enjoy hot spring!

Some people were enjoying foot bath.

After taking a bath, I explored a bit around the town.

Back to the station.

14:57 Kinosaki-onsen - 15:52 Hamasaka

Arrived at Hamasaka station.

Had 27 minutes, so I walked around a bit.

Back to the station.

Today's final ride to Tottori.

16:19 Hamasaka - 17:10 Tottori

You need to open and close doors by yourself. This is quite surprising for the people from Tokyo.

Arrived at Tottori station and saw this cute train.

A pink mailing box!?

Enjoyed sushi and sake with my friend from Tottori.

Stayed at a very traditional inn.

Does my journey look like a triathlon? LOL

This is not exactly how I traveled, but to show you the distance.
