10:16 Atami - 11:13 Okitsu




Arrived at Okitsu station. The weather isn't good.


Wow! No restaurants nor shops!?


I managed to find some food at this supermarket.


11:55 Okitsu station - 12:01 Shin-urayasu-bashi (bus)


Walked 30 minutes from Shin-urayasu-bashi bus stop to Satta Pass（薩埵峠）






Here I am!


I could have seen a beautiful scenery from here...


The faded mountain in the distance is actually Mt. Fuji.


Doesn't look like Mt. Fuji?


Would have been much better with Mt. Fuji, but this is quite a view!


Okay, let me go back to Okitsu station.


Hmm... Mt. Fuji...


The ocean was beautiful, anyway.

Dinner time.




Arrived at Ogaki station. I decided to walk about a bit till the next train.

Okay. Time to head for Today's destination.

How to fix backlit photos

Hello, travelers. This is  Kumi .   Picturesque Japan  Blog shows you a technique to fix backlit photos. On a sunny day, it's sometimes difficult to take good photos because of too much contrast. In that case, you could fix your photos on your phones later. (*If you are not iPhone users, you could find similar photo editing function on your phones.) First, please tap "Edit." Tap this icon. Tap "Light." Then expand the "LIGHT" menu. Tap “Shadows.” Slide the bar till the faces look bright enough. Now, tap "Highlights."  Slide the bar till the outside looks clearer. Then, tap "Contrast." Slide the bar to adjust the contrast (if necessary). Shochu-mimai & Zansho-mimai (summer greetings)

Do you send summer greetings in your country? Though not all Japanese people do this, we have a culture to send summer greeting cards. Until the end of July, it's called " Shochu-mimai " (the meaning is something like "I care you during these hot days") and from August 1, it's called " Zansho-mimai " (the meaning is something like "I care you while the heat is still remaining"). I don't like summer, but these summer cards have been making me very happy. :)
