Tour photos from February 8, 2018
Hello, travelers. This is Kumi. Picturesque Japan Blog welcomes you to Tokyo.
We started our tour from Tsukiji Fish Market.
https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3021.html
Tsukiji is a fun place to check out, but please note that the inner market is NOT really for sightseeing. We should follow the rules and respect the people who are working there. Some of them are not welcoming because tourists could disturb their businesses.
If you wish to see the tuna auction, you need to be there early morning like 2am or 3am. Please check out the information on the official website.

Today, we arrived at Tsukiji after 10am and started exploring the inner market.
This is a Turret forklift truck. You should be very careful about them because they are running around the market at quite high speed.
Wow! Blowfish!!
The grounds are usually wet so you should NOT wear expensive pairs of shoes.
We met these friendly wholesalers and enjoyed conversation. It's good to know some of them are welcoming.
The baked egg is very popular here so we tried some pieces.
There are some super popular sushi restaurants where you need to go very early to dine.
It was before 11:00 but they already showed this sign saying their sushi will be sold out after they serve the people waiting now.
We met this very cute artist called "K. Hikosaka."

Her artwork is really funny. I love them so much!
We checked out Namiyoke Shrine which is said to have had powers to help proceed the reclaiming this Tsukuji area by weakening sea waves.
In Tsukiji, you'll see so many shops with a various kind of food and products. A white strawberry??? More than 10 USD a piece!??? Wow!
Even though you cannot see tuna auctions, you may be able to see a tuna filleting display.
They found a very nice shop with ceramics.
Got really impressed with the packaging technique!
And took a photo with the skilled shop clerks.
After Tsukiji, we visited Hamarikyu Gardens.

You can enjoy the contrast because this place is very peaceful.
This is where you can try Japanese matcha (powdered green tea).
Cheers!
Isn't this garden pretty? :)
The pond and canals have seawater and there are some machines controling the water level.
Now we got on a boat.
TOKYO CRUISE

From Hama Rikyu to Asakusa: 740 yen
Some people call this cruise "Bridge Museum Tour" because you can see a lot of different bridges.
That cool boat over there is called "HIMIKO." She goes from Asakusa to Odaiba.
Our boat is lovely too, isn't it?
We got off the boat in Asakusa.
A photo time!
He is super tall! LOL
We visited Senso-ji (temple).
https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3001.html
Asakusa is really photogenic. How many pics did you take?
Doll cakes are popular here. The taste is like a pancake or waffle but filled with sweet red bean paste.
What a cute couple!
The smoke from the incense burner said to have healing power.
This is the main building. You cannot take photos inside but it's okay to take the photos from the distance like this.
