At and around HND

Hello, travelers. This is Kumi. Picturesque Japan Blog welcomes you to Haneda Airport and around.

If you fly out from Haneda airport and have some time before the flight, there are some options for spending your last minute.

How do you get to the airport? If you take Tokyo monorail from Hamamatsucho station, why don't you leave your luggage in a coin locker at the station, and explore the gardens nearby? Go out from the North exit, turn right, walk under the train tracks, then you'll find Kyu-Shibarikyu Gargens on your right.

This is like secret gardens. You'll never imagine this peacefulness from outside! People working nearby (probably with annual passports) bring in lunch and relax here.

Kyu-Shibarikyu Gardens
Hours: 9am to 5pm (entrance until 4:30pm)
Closed: December 29 to January 3
Admission: 150 Yen

If you are already checked in at the airport, but still have some hours before getting on board, please take a free shuttle from Bus Stop No. 0 on the 1st floor of the passenger terminal, and go to the observation deck at Terminal 2. (approx. 7min)

You could enjoy airplanes come and go. I do recommend Terminal 2 because it's facing the sea and you could see Tokyo Sky Tree and Tokyo Tower in the distance. You could enjoy beer here!

If you don't have time to visit Terminal 2 but want to enjoy your last minute, please go up to the 4th floor and the 5th floor of the International Terminal.

You can enjoy the observation deck on the 5th floor and some flight-related stuff.

On the 4th floor, there is a replica of Nihombashi bridge.

And you can enjoy shopping at Edo Market.

Hope you add one last good memory at or around Haneda Airport!
