HATO BUS Tour and more

Hello, travelers. This is Kumi. Picturesque Japan Blog welcomes you to Tokyo.

My friend and I joined a HATO BUS tour. Hatobus tours have been popular for almost 70 years and now they have a lot of English tours as well.

(*We joined a tour in Japanese on this day)

We got on the bus near Tokyo station (Marunouchi side) and saw the Imperial Palace from the window.

This is the entrance of Nihon Budokan where Beatles held concerts in 1966.

Cherry trees are amazing!!!

Our first stop was Yasukuni Shrine. The shrine commemorates those who died in service of the Empire of Japan during the war.

They have the War Museum called "Yushukan."

Yasukuni Shrine is designated as the official reference point for Tokyo's cherry blossom season. If you're interested, this article tells you more.

This is the benchmark cherry tree!

There are so many cherry trees here.

Let's get on the HATO BUS again and enjoy the view.

This is Chidorigafuchi, a very popular spot to appreciate cherry blossoms.

Now we're going inside the National Diet Building (Parliament Building).

Japanese parliament consists of the House of Representatives (lower house) and the House of Councillors (upper house). And this is the assembly room for the House of Representatives.

The House of Representatives has 465 members.

The Diet has gardens and there are trees of each prefecture. Tokyo's tree is gingko.

Now we're going back to Tokyo station.

Before we say goodbye to HATO BUS, the guide said the rooftop garden at KITTE is cool so we came up here.

Wow! Trains, trains, and trains...

Then we visited Tokyo station. You can see this view if you go up to the second floor of the Tokyo Station Hotel.

Bar Oak is really sophisticated.

When we went out, the color of the sky was amazing.

Then we took JR line to Harajuku and came to this restaurant.

Matsubara-an Keyaki

If you wish to have authentic Japanese soba noodle, you should check this out.

After dinner, we walked Omotesando, the street with a lot of interesting architectures.

FYI. There is an Apple Store near Omotesando station.

People rarely go sightseeing in their own cities, but joining a HATO BUS tour will be really fun for both Japanese people and non-Japanese visitors.
