Mosquito-coil holder (Kayariki)

Hello, travelers. This is Kumi. Let me introduce "Kayariki." Kayariki is a mosquito-coil holder and the very traditional one is pig-shaped. However, you can find some cute ones these days. Here is mine.


One day, my dad found a mosquito was resting at the tip of her tail and said "She may be too sweet to kill mosquitoes." Anyway, whenever we see this Kayariki cat, she makes us very happy.

Hello, travelers. This is  Kumi .   Picturesque Japan  Blog shows you a technique to fix backlit photos. On a sunny day, it's sometimes difficult to take good photos because of too much contrast. In that case, you could fix your photos on your phones later. (*If you are not iPhone users, you could find similar photo editing function on your phones.) First, please tap "Edit." Tap this icon. Tap "Light." Then expand the "LIGHT" menu. Tap “Shadows.” Slide the bar till the faces look bright enough. Now, tap "Highlights."  Slide the bar till the outside looks clearer. Then, tap "Contrast." Slide the bar to adjust the contrast (if necessary). Autumn in Kyoto Nov. 6 - 11

It was to support an event. As I had some free time before or/and after work every day, I visited a lot of temples and shrines. Seeing Mt. Fuji from Tokyo

Hi Travelers, this is Kumi. 2-23 (February 23) could sound /fu-ji-san/ in Japanese, so this is the Mount Fuji Day as well as the Emperor's Birthday!
