The new Toyosu Market

Hello, travelers. This is Kumi. Picturesque Japan Blog welcomes you to the new Toyosu Market.
https://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3013_market.html

First of all, Toyosu Market is here.

I took the bus #05-1 to Shin-Toyosu Sta. bus stop this morning.

You could take the Yurikamome Line to Shijo-mae Sta. I met my guide friends here today.

From the station, if you go left, you can go to Block 7 (Fisheries Wholesale Market Building). If you go right, you can go to Block 6 (Fisheries Intermediate Wholesale Market Building). You may wonder what the difference is. In short, Block 7 is where you can see the tuna auction VERY early in the morning. Block 6 has restaurants and shops. Well, actually, there are some more, so I'll tell you the details with some photos.

Let's go left for Block 7. Hmm... what a long hallway.

There are 13 restaurants in the Management Facilities Building (*as of Oct 18, 2018).

And some information.

Unfortunately, some panels are only in Japanese. I hope they add English later.

You can see them, too.

Let's walk to the Observation Gallery where you can see the tuna auction.

Umm... not this one.

Again, they have a lot of information panels.

This is where you can see the tuna auction. (*It was 9:30, so the auction wasn't going on)

Unfortunately, the glass isn't good for photos. I assume this is to keep a suitable temperature.

There are a lot of panels to tell the history of Tsukiji Market along the hallway.

Also, the information about the current market.

A long, long hallway...

We came back almost to the station.

Now, let's go to Block 6.

The view is nice.

Okay. Restaurants! There are 22 restaurants on the 3rd floor (*as of Oct 18, 2018).

There are some very popular sushi restaurants here.

Hmm... people do have patience. (I don't)

Sushi-dai is a very popular sushi restaurant. They said it'll be a 4-hour waiting. No way. I'm hungry!

There should be the 4th floor with shops. Where is it? Walking and walking...

Oh, well... This is where we can observe peep the wholesale business.

Okay, let's go up to the 4th floor with an escalator. This is like a fancy mall or a department store.

There are a lot of retail stores for tourists.

Sake and cheese. Sounds yummy.

And, where is the Green Roof Plaza?

Well, after a long walk back almost to the station and the elevator ride, we came up here for the Green Roof Plaza.

The Odaiba side is kind of blocked with some buildings.

However, if you walk to Harumi side, you can see the Tokyo Tower.

And the full view of Rainbow Bridge.

I like the view of Toyosu-gururi Park. This reminds me of the view from Brooklyn.

Let's go back to the to the Green Roof Plaza.

Such a long walk...

The view toward Toyosu Bridge direction was cool.

Now, this is Block 5 (Fruit and Vegetables Building).

Well...

Another long hallway.

Hmm...

Panels...

There are 5 restaurants in this block (*as of Oct 18, 2018).

Okay. Done. Let's go to Tsukiji Outer Market with the Yurikamome line and the bus.

Tsukiji Outer Market

Oh, yeah! This is what we wanted!!!

Yes!!!!!

Yeeeeees!!!!

Well, I suppose people have been making a great effort for the new Toyosu Market and if some of them were my friends, I may have posted things differently. However, if I express my very honest opinion, I would enjoy Tsukiji Outer Market a lot better than this new Toyosu Market because we can feel people's vibes in Tsukiji. I may be biased and old-fashioned, so I'll keep checking what other people think about Toyosu.

In any case, now that the business area and the tourist area are totally separated, this may be much better for the people working there because they won't be bothered.
